Many communities across the US are still affected by the 2009 H1N1 influenza, formerly known as Swine Flu. While the severity of this outbreak during the next several months is unknown, all dental personnel will most likely be exposed.

Hospital-based studies have implicated noncompliance with hand hygiene practices with health-care associated infections and the spread of multi-resistant organisms.
